For a fortnight Saluzzo stands out like an island in a sea of colours: all the orchards around the town are in bloom! Strolling through the upper town there are several vantage points from which to enjoy a unique view. It is also possible to stroll through the rows of peach, apple and plum trees that burst with colour and fragrance.
One of the most heartfelt moments each year is the National Liberation Day on 25th April. On the same date, the Villa Bricherasio, the botanical garden, traditionally opens for visitors. Here, thousands of plant species from all continents are preserved, and looked after.
Join the people of Saluzzo as they stroll along Via Bodoni towards Manta, or along the paths in the hills, to breathe in nature as it is reborn after a long winter.
Between the end of March and April, runners and amateur athletes from all over Italy and abroad gather in Saluzzo for the “La mezza del Marchesato”, 21 km across the countryside towards Lagnasco, Verzuolo and Manta.
The first weekend in June sees the “Notte Bianca”, the first in the province of Cuneo, with special openings of bars, restaurants and museums, street-shows, and live music.
Saluzzo’s municipal museum circuit is open and offers special visits and activities for both adults and children.
